There are venues that are beautiful… and then there are venues that tell a story.
Elevator 23 is a wedding venue where history, restoration, and intentional design come together to create something completely unforgettable. I recently had the chance to photograph the space, and it’s the kind of location that instantly sparks inspiration—for couples, photographers, and anyone who appreciates meaningful places.

Originally established in the early 1900s, this property was once a working grain elevator—serving as a hub for imports and exports via train and truck. Massive in structure and rich in purpose, grain elevators earned their name from the bucket systems used to move grain throughout the building.
For more than 20 years, the property sat abandoned—quietly becoming a landmark for locals and urban explorers.
That is, until a new vision took root.
In 2023, the current owners purchased the property with a dream: to transform this forgotten space into something meaningful again. What started as a real estate opportunity quickly evolved into something much bigger—a family-owned place where people could gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories. And let me tell you, they are such a wonderful family!
Rather than simply rebuilding, the owners chose to honor the story of the land in every detail.
The newly constructed wedding venue, Elevator 23 sits on the original concrete pad and blends modern amenities with preserved industrial character. Nearly every element has intention behind it:
Even the design process was personal—brought to life with the help of their daughter, an interior designer, who helped shape the vision into something cohesive and welcoming.
The result is a venue that feels both elevated and grounded—modern, yet deeply rooted in history.

What makes Elevator 23 stand out isn’t just the aesthetic—it’s the heart and family behind behind it.
The owners didn’t set out with the sole intention of opening a wedding venue. Instead, their passion lies in bringing neglected spaces back to life and using what they’ve been given in a purposeful, God-honoring way.
That intention is felt the moment I stepped onto the property.
With over 20 acres of space, a restored barn full of character, and the iconic grain elevator towering nearby, this venue offers a setting that feels both expansive and intimate—perfect for couples who want something unique and meaningful.

From a photographer’s perspective, the wedding venue Elevator 23 is full of texture, light, and variety.
The combination of industrial elements, open land, and reclaimed materials creates a backdrop that feels editorial yet organic. Whether you’re drawn to the clean lines of the barn, the character of the salvaged wood, or the striking presence of the grain elevator itself, there’s no shortage of beautiful locations to create something special.
It’s the kind of place where your images won’t just look beautiful—they’ll feel like you.

And the most exciting part?
The family is just getting started.
First, the long-term vision is to eventually open the grain elevator itself for guests to experience—adding even more depth and uniqueness to the venue. It’s a project rooted in patience, creativity, and vision… and it’s one worth watching and rooting for.
So, if you’re a couple who:
Then, Elevator 23 is absolutely one to have on your radar!
There’s something incredibly special about watching a space be brought back to life—and Elevator 23 does that in a way that feels both beautiful and deeply meaningful.
It’s not just a venue. It’s a story in progress.
And if you choose to celebrate your wedding here, you become part of that story.
